Bible verse for May 22
There is no one righteous, not even one. (Romans 3:10)
Prayer Reflections for May 20
Hi. My name is Cindy. I am a sinner.
Like a person attending an alcoholics anonymous meeting, that is how I could have introduced myself to others before I came to know Christ.
Everyone could say this about themselves whether they know Christ or not. It is a matter of recognizing that we are sinful and not worthy of being in the presence of a Holy God.
Romans 3:10 says, “As it is written; “None is righteous, no, not one;”
All of us are sinners in need of a Savior. And that is why God sent Jesus, His Son, to die for us on the cross. He took on the sin we deserved so that we could be in God’s presence for eternity (John 3:16). On the third day after His crucifixion, Jesus rose from the grave.
That is grace or unmerited favor. He gave us eternal life when we didn’t deserve it. Instead of being condemned for our sins for an eternity away from God, we will have eternal life, free of pain and sorrow, in the presence of God. We’ve been saved by grace so that we cannot boast before others about the good works we do. We can freely receive a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8-9).
Now after having accepted Christ, that introduction is now:
Hi. My name is Cindy. I am a sinner saved by grace.
What about you? Have you accepted God’s free gift and changed your introduction like me? If you haven’t and want peace with God, pray with me below.
If you know Christ already, praise the Lord! Take a moment to pray for a friend or loved one to know Christ as their Savior and follow Him.
May 22 Prayer
God, I recognize that I am a sinner. Forgive me for my sins. I believe Jesus is Your Son and that He died for my sin and rose again to life. From now on, I want to accept Jesus as my Savior and Lord of my life. Direct me, Lord, and help me to do your will. I pray this in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.
