Are you looking for a prayer for a good work day?

The workday can be stressful. There are definitely days I wake up and wish I could hit the snooze button because I dread what’s to come at work.

The last year has made it really hard to make every day a good work day. Zoom fatigue is real and I get to the end of the day and I’m exhausted.

You may be experiencing the same thing and wondering how you can possibly have a good work day when so many things seem to be working against you.

You might also be wondering the following questions:

What is a prayer for a good day at work?

How do I pray for my co-workers?

How do I pray for a difficult situation at work?

One thing that has been super helpful to change my attitude is praying for a good work day. I communicate with God about my worries and give it all to Him.

These prayers for a good work day can change your perspective on work and help you have an amazing work day!

Why is it important to pray for a good work day?

It is so easy to forget that God exists in the workplace.

My husband is really good at reminding me of God’s faithfulness in my work and how He continues to show up and enable a good work day. It’s comforting to know that God is present even in the seemingly boring tasks of my work day.

God wants us to have a good day at work. He tells us our labor is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) and that we should do it joyfully (Colossians 3:23-24). He empowers us with the gifts and talents to carry out the work He has called us to do. We should look for blessings that can make any day a good day.

Bible verses about work

Work looks like a lot of different things for different people. But there is one thing for certain – God has called us to work and be good stewards of the resources He has given us.

The Bible says work is honorable and should be done with a joyful spirit.

Here are a few Bible verses about work to encourage you to have a good work day. Read and meditate on them each morning.

Psalm 79

Psalm 90:17

Psalm 118:24

Ecclesiastes 9:10

Numbers 6:24-26

Colossians 3:23

Prayers for a Good Work Day

Some days you might wake up with this feeling that work is going to be dreadful. That is why we need Jesus!

He is our intermediary and can help us pray for a good work day. Starting your day with prayer and gratitude will ensure a good work day.

Lord, thank you for the blessing of this day and this job. Your mercies are new every morning. Help me to have a good work day and find joy in what lies ahead. Help me to taste and see what is good.

I want to embrace all that you have for me at work today. Renew my strength and help me to show up as the best I can possibly be. I invite you to join me so that everyone will sense your presence today. Amen.

Prayer to Share the Gospel with Co-Workers

It can be tempting to want to keep your work and personal life separate. However, the workplace is the perfect opportunity to share the gospel with co-workers.

Someone once encouraged me with something as simple as sharing with my co-workers that I was going to church on Sunday to start the conversation about God.

Lord, help me to find ways to share the Gospel with Co-Workers. Fill me with your grace, mercy and wisdom to speak truth in love. My hope is to be a living vessel of the gospel of Jesus Christ through my words and actions. Amen.

Prayer for Wisdom and Direction

Praying for wisdom and direction can increase your productivity at work.

Lord, as I set out my goals and tasks for the day, give me wisdom and direction into what I should accomplish first. I know I am going to need constant focus and guidance from you. May I perform each task to the best of my ability. Help me lean into your knowledge and wisdom to direct me on the right path. Amen.

Prayer for Conflict

Conflict can definitely prevent a good work day. In the Bible, Christians are called to be image bearers and act like Jesus.

As a believer, how you respond to conflict can set you apart and shine the light of Jesus. You can live the Gospel by responding with the fruit of the spirit – kindness, patience, wisdom and love.

Pray and invite the Holy Spirit to help guide how you respond in conflict so you can have a good work day.

Lord, I need your help to navigate this conflict at work. Give me the wisdom and self-control to respond like Jesus would. Help me to be quick to listen and slow to anger. I want you to be glorified in the workplace. Amen.

Make everyday a good day with prayer!
