Prayer Reflection & Questions for February 10
Imagine looking out of your window and watching an intense rainstorm. The rain is barreling down so hard that you wonder if it will ever stop. There is someone out in the rain, and it worries you. Yet, they have a refuge- their extremely large umbrella. The umbrella protects the person and keeps that person safe and comfortable. If they hadn’t sought out the umbrella they would be soaked!
Sometimes when we pray we expect God to remove the rainstorm that is piling down on our lives. Yet God is there to provide the umbrella- to be the refuge and the shelter. When we seek out God, He will be the umbrella whether we ask that or not. He will force us to rest in His safety as He protects us, even if it is not always easy to see.
1. Think of an unanswered prayer in your life. What are some possibilities of things God could be protecting you from?
2. Ever fall asleep praying? That is never something to feel guilty about. God truly wants to be your comfort and your rest, your falling asleep in prayer is doing just that. When you fall asleep at night, what is the last thing on your mind? Is it peaceful?
February 10 Prayer
Dear Lord, Thank you for being my refuge. When you force rest, I know it is for my good so I can be safe and feel your peace. Let your peace radiate through me today and affect everyone around me, Amen.
