Bible verse for January 4 Prayer
“‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26
Questions to think about/pray through for your January 4 Prayer
- So often we think of a blessing as a positive outcome that happens to us. And it can be! But the biggest blessing is that God is with us. Barak is the Hebrew word for “blessing” in this particular verse, which is also a word for worship and reverence.
- These verses are priestly blessings, but about how God blesses His people. This blessing was written before the Jewish people wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Write down how you view this verse knowing it was written before the wilderness.
- This verse shows God’s promise that He will turn His face to the Israelites. He never left them in the desert. How can you feel God even when you feel that you’re in the desert?
January 4 Prayer
God, I don’t know if this year will bring lots of greenery or lots of desert. But I do know that you will turn your face toward me through the process. Please bless me and protect me and keep me safe no matter what this year brings, Amen.
