“So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NIV)

Questions to reflect/pray through for your January 5 Prayer
- Only a few times, the Bible promises to remove a situation. However, there are dozens of instances where God promises to help us through a problem. What are some times in your life when God strengthened you and upheld you through a situation?
- Our past can be our proof that God will give us inner strength. Ephesians 3:16 says, “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” Take some time to imagine what life would look like if we asked God for inner strength as opposed to removing a situation.
- “Do not be afraid” or “fear not” is one of the most used phrases in the Bible. It is clear that God wants us to come to Him in faith whenever we start feeling afraid. What does that look like in your life? What small step can you take to go to God every time you are afraid? Write that idea down on an index card or a piece of paper and place it where you can see it often.
January 5 Prayer
Dear God, Just like You always provided for the Israelites, and always gave them inner strength, we ask You to do the same for us. We are blessed that You hear us whenever we are afraid, and You remind us that You are God and You will see us through for Your glory. Help us find that inner strength that is already within us since You are within us. Help us tap into that strength and use it to testify how amazing You are, even when life may be crumbling down around us. Let the strength You give us be for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
