Prayer Reflections for May 26
A couple of years ago I asked God this question: “Why weren’t there any women disciples talked about in the Bible?”
I was conflicted and almost felt offended that a woman wasn’t chosen to be among those 12 disciples.
I looked at this “situation” from a natural perspective, not a spiritual perspective. Regardless, I got an answer! Almost immediately, the Lord spoke to me and asked me this: “Aren’t you my disciple?” And I was humbled quickly!
I remembered Galatians 3:28, that reminds us that we are all one in Christ Jesus (that male or female is irrelevant to our relationship with God). I was reminded that Jesus Christ isn’t simply a historical figure people have written about. Jesus is alive! I remembered that the Bible isn’t just a history book to be analyzed. It is the living Word of God!
We exist in the Bible as children of God. Once we accept Christ as our Savior, we are adopted into every promise that God has made throughout the Bible (Galatians 3:29).
We are NOW followers of Christ! In fact, TODAY we have access to the “exceeding riches of his grace.” Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8)! Not only does God provide grace to forgive us of our sins (1 John 1:9), transform our lives (2 Corinthians 5:17), and promise us everlasting life (John 3:16). He has so much more! Among countless promises, He has promised to comfort us and teach us in all things (John 14:26). This is exactly what He wants to do for everyone!
In His Word, Jesus has promised that He will supply all that we need (Phillipians 4:19), answer our prayers (John 15:7), will never leave us (Hebrews 13:5) and He will never change (Malachi 3:6). We, like every generation before us, are included in God’s plan.
I am thankful that the love and goodness of God isn’t restricted to one generation, one time period, or one type of people. He loves us all! Everyone can connect with Him right now. He doesn’t end with what happened in the past. He is constant. We are not isolated or alone. We can reach out to Him and He will reach back! He has promised us the same grace through every age.
Keep trusting in Him! He will always be more than enough!
Love, Grace
