When I fell pregnant with my daughter, I did not know that at the same time, my brother’s wife would also be having a baby. It was such a special time to experience pregnancy and new life with someone else in the family.
Having children is such a blessing from God. It is so wonderful to be blessed with the experience of creating new life inside of you, and experiencing the joy of birth and newborn babies!
Seeing your family expand, and grow is such a wonderful thing. You never know what God has planned for other people in their lives, and I surely did not think that my sister-in-law would fall pregnant around the same time as me.
Nonetheless, my brother and his wife had been blessed with two precious little boys. Therefore I have two nephews in the family. And although I have not seen them for quite some time (due to distance), I can still think about them and pray for them.
That is the joy in having a strong foundation in Christ alone. You are able to think about and pray for others and know that God hears and answers your prayers in His perfect timing and according to His perfect Will.
Prayer is so powerful. It is a way for us to communicate with our Creator. We can talk to Him the same way that we talk to our family and friends. We can share anything with Him. There is nothing hidden from Him.
And if you are ever in a position where you are the only saved person in your family; the only Christian, prayer becomes such a powerful tool that you can use to positively change the lives of others.
The Importance of Prayer
As Christians, we are called to pray for one another. Praying for our family is so important, even if they themselves are not believers.
If you cannot be there to positively influence them towards the light of Christ, you can at least pray for them and ask God to help them, encourage them and guide them on the right path.
So, I encourage you to read over these scriptures and prayers that I will share today, to help you pray for your nephew/s.
Prayers for Our Nephews
A Prayer for Our Nephew/s to Know and Experience the Love of God
“Dear God,
I pray that my nephews will get to know, understand and experience your perfect, unconditional, everlasting love.
Although I cannot [always] be present in their lives, I still ask that you help me to be a positive influence towards them.
Help me to shine the light of Christ in their lives, and to expose the darkness of this world.
Encourage me with your wisdom, Lord, to share the truth of the gospel, so that they come to know who Jesus is and what He has done for us.
I pray that my nephews will know that you love them so much, and that you created them uniquely, fearfully and wonderfully in your image.
And I pray that I can demonstrate your love through my actions and words towards them.
Thank you God.
In Jesus’s Name I Pray,
AMEN.”
A Prayer of Peace for Our Nephew/s
2 Thessalonians 3:16 – “Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all”.
“Heavenly Father,
I come to you in prayer today because I want to make sure that my nephews find peace in their lives, and come to know that true peace is from you, Lord.
I pray that their lives are filled with peace and joy, and that they are comforted by the knowledge of your words, and your love for them.
Please protect them, God and guide them on the right path.
Encourage them to seek the truth of the Bible, and be at peace knowing that Jesus provides eternal salvation to those who put their faith and trust in Him.
For me, Lord, that is a perfect definition of peace – knowing that you have eternal security.
Although they are young now, Lord, I pray that they grow up peacefully.
Thank you Lord.
In Jesus’s Name I Pray,
AMEN.”
A Prayer for My Nephews Having Good Friendships
“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend” – Proverbs 27:17
“Dear Lord,
Please guide the right people into my nephew’s lives. I pray that you remove anyone that is not worthy or deserving of their friendship.
I also pray that you remove anyone from their lives that are only there to cause harm.
Please protect them, Lord.
Protect them from the evil ways of this world.
Protect them from bad, horrible people with only evil intentions.
I pray that you send your angels down to watch over them and guide them on the straight and narrow.
I really do hope and pray that my nephews find wonderful, Christian friends who will support them, pray for them, and encourage them in the faith.
Having Christian friends is so important, especially in a time like this.
And I pray that these friendships are long-lasting, too.
In Jesus’s Name I Pray,
AMEN.”
A Prayer for My Nephews to Be In Good Health
“Heavenly Father,
I know that my nephews aren’t always in the best of health.
So I come to you in prayer today to help them strengthen their immune systems.
I ask that you guide their parents to encourage good nutrition and to comfort them in times of sickness.
Please look after them when they are unwell, and help them to stay positive and happy, too.
Having sick children is no fun, and I know that we cannot avoid it completely.
But I pray that my nephews will continue to be in good health, to stay healthy and active and to be well looked after.
Thank you God,
In Jesus’s Name I Pray,
AMEN.”
A Prayer for My Nephew’s Future
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” – Romans 8:28
“Dear God,
I do not know what the future holds.
I do not know what is going to happen in my nephews’ lives.
But I do know this: you are the Creator of this whole world and everything and everyone inside of it.
You created my nephews.
You know every single thing about them: past, present and future.
So I come to you in prayer today, Lord, to be with them, to protect them, to guide them on the right path and to look after them.
I pray that they have a good future, with wonderful friends and a beautiful family.
I pray that my nephews come to know the truth of Jesus and the Bible.
I pray that they come to experience the joy and peace that is from you, Lord.
And to be filled with your love, always.
You create each and every one of us with a perfect plan and purpose for our lives.
I pray that my nephews will come to understand what the plan and purpose is for each of their lives, and to do Your Will in their lives only.
Please encourage them to be on the straight and narrow, and to serve you only Lord.
And I pray that the people who enter their lives will be such a positive influence in their Christian walk.
Thank you God,
In Jesus’s Name I Pray,
AMEN.”
A Prayer for My Nephew’s Salvation
“Dear God,
I pray for my nephew’s salvation.
I pray that they come to understand the truth of the gospel.
Please encourage them to the truth of Jesus and all that He has done for them.
I pray that my nephews will seek you, Lord and live their lives according to Your Will.
You are so good to us, God.
You are so wonderful and so amazing.
I just want my nephews to experience the joy and love that is through Christ.
I want them to know that you are real, and that you created them and have a perfect plan for their lives.
I want them to grow up knowing you, Lord, and loving you and praying to you and reading the Bible.
I would love for my nephews to be saved, and to understand Your Word and Your Will.
May Your Will be done in their lives.
Thank you God.
In Jesus’s Name I Pray,
AMEN.”
