Bible verse for February 7

“If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.” (1 Peter 4:14)

Prayer Reflection & Questions for February 7

  1. Think of the times you have been insulted, or felt insulted, for being a Christian. What were your actions before being insulted? Take some time to reflect on those actions with God, and ask God to reveal if the actions were carried out in a godly manner, even if they had godly intentions.
  2. How often have you been insulted for your love for Christ? The goal is not to be insulted. It is not a compliment when we are insulted, or justification for any actions we may have had. However, when we are insulted for purely Christian motives, we are blessed. It does not mean we receive additional blessings, but that we can feel the Spirit of God resting on us.

February 7 Prayer

O God, Help us reflect on our intentions and our ways. Allow us to make room to be instructed and corrected by you (Proverbs 6:23). If we are not taking correction, are we growing in our faith? Allow us to make bold moves that are from you, and know that we are blessed no matter what the response is from those around us, Amen.
