Bible verse for January 17 Prayer

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

Reflection Questions for your January 17 Prayer

  1. Read the Bible verse above, and then read Psalm 1. What are the similarities?
  2. Psalm 1 talks about how we are like a tree planted by water with deep roots when we love God’s Word. Jeremiah 17:7-8 talks about how we are like a tree planted by water when we have confidence in God and trust in Him. We can gain more trust in Him when we read His word and when we pray, trusting that He will do what is best. What is one part of your life where you can trust God more?
  3. Write out a prayer to God that is a personal prayer of trusting in Him and having confidence in Him.

January 17 Prayer Based On Jeremiah 17:7-8

Lord, I am blessed because I trust in You. My confidence is in You. I want to be like a tree planted by Your living water that sends out its roots by the stream. I want to not fear when the heat comes, I want my leaves to always be green. Let me never worry of drought and never fail to bear fruit in your name, Amen.
