Bible verse for February 5

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest in hope.” (Acts 2:26 NIV)

Prayer Reflection & Questions for February 5

“I see that the Lord is with me.

I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me.”

These are the words that were written before our verse of the day above.

When we recognize that God is right beside us, fighting the battles, we can truly rest in hope.

These words came from Peter’s first sermon. But these weren’t his words. Acts 2:25-28 comes from Psalm 16:8-11. These were David’s words. And Peter brings them up because they were just as true as they were in David’s time.

And they are just as true today.

  1. Sometimes we love to think about how God is fighting our battles. But because God sees everything, God also fights battles for us that we didn’t know existed. Think about every event that happened in your life yesterday, both mundane and non-mundane. Where did you see God yesterday? After you ponder that question, think about all the “what ifs” you may have had in the past that God didn’t let happen today- God has prevented so much harm we didn’t even know we were threatened by.
  2. What is one way you can rest in the hope of God today?

February 5 Prayer

Dear God, Thank you for being with me today. I know I only get a glimpse of all you have done to keep me safe. I’ll never know all the harm you shielded me from, and I am so thankful for you being my refuge. Amen!
