Bible verse for January 15 Prayer

“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you” (Exodus 23:25)

Reflection Questions for your January 15 Prayer

1. This verse was written to the Israelites, during a time that obedience was based on performance. If they worshipped God, they would be blessed. God gave them manna in the desert. Now that we follow a new covenant, where we are forgiven, what does that say about how God will bless us with food and water and taking care of us?

2. We notice when we are hungry or thirsty. We notice when we are sick. Yet we never know how many times God made sure we had food to eat and water to drink, or how many times he prevented us from becoming sick. We will never know exactly how much God has spared us from harm. Write or pray praise to God based on us only knowing what we know, and not how much God has helped us.

January 15 Prayer

Dear Lord, your ways are bigger than our ways, and we will never know just how powerful and mighty we are. Thank you for shielding us from harm more times than we will ever know, Amen.
