It’s the start of a new year! Praise be to God for bringing us into 2023! Time for some January blessings and prayers!
Here at Pray With Confidence, we have a lot to help you with getting close to God through prayer and His word for the new year. We will be providing scripture writing plans as well as daily prayers for all 365 days of the year. The daily prayer prompt is not any part of annual subscriptions or anything like that- simply sign up here, and unsubscribe whenever you’d like!
Before we jump into January blessings though and focus on the new year, it is important to start on the past year and everything that has gone on. To know where the Holy Spirit wants us to go, it is important to know where we have been and where He has already taken us. Take some time to quietly reflect on the good of the past year, and what parts could be improved.
January Resources for Prayer & Bible Reading
It wouldn’t be a new month without new resources!
#1 Here is the scripture writing plan/Bible reading plan for January.
#2 Here are the daily prayers for January (and the entire year!) This will be continually updated throughout the year.
#3 Or, if it is easier, you can sign up here to receive the daily prayer prompts (with the guiding Bible verses and questions to pray through) by email each day.
This prayer journal is definitely one to try! Write one line of prayer a day. This journal goes for five years, so starting in year 2 you can see what you prayed for a year ago on that day. This is an AMAZING way to see how many answered prayers we receive that we wouldn’t otherwise remember.
January Blessings for 2023 for others
Here are a few blessings for the month of January to share with family and friends.
May January be just the beginning of the blessings of God to be evident throughout your life. May you see God’s fingerprints all over each day.
Thanks to God’s Word, we know that if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation! (2 Corinthians 5:17) May this peaceful new year give you new moments to continue to share the good news of our Savior.
May God’s blessings shine in the most loving ways. May each blessing be as memorable as the first time we saw an answered prayer from God.
To God be the Glory! My prayer is for all of us to take the miracle of Christmas Day and bring it into every day of this happy new year. Amen!
May we all show Christ’s light in each moment of every day so God’s love is shown to all.
January Blessings and Prayers for 2023 for myself
May the peace of Christ be evident in me, and the peace of God guide me in every decision I make this year, Amen.
Dear God, Please help me to remember you in every moment this upcoming year. Help me to remember you in every good time, with all the good works I do as well as witness, and all emotions that I feel. May I remember that each time is sacred time and each space is sacred space. This is my special prayer I pray for January, Amen.
Dear Lord, Thank you for everything you are. Thank you for everything you do. I will continually praise you, not just for what you have done for me but for how awesome and wonderful You are. Praise be to God! May your favor be upon us this January as we receive your blessings. Amen.
Dear Heavenly Father, It is wonderful for us to start a new year, but as the month goes on, January can be hard for many. The cold and dreary weather, the calm after Christmas, and other elements can make January a tough month. Please help me remain positive in your joy instead of the temporary happiness of the world, and please be with those who are deeply down and need you now God. Amen.
O Lord, I don’t know what to expect for January, but you do, and you already know how it turns out. Please be with me during each day of this month so I can do whatever you instruct me to further advance your Kingdom here on earth. In God’s name, Amen.

January is a great time for new beginnings. But it is also a wonderful time to remember the wonderful blessings that we already have in our lives. How can we take the blessings we have and use them to bless others and to spread God’s message in the new year? We can ponder that through daily prayer and getting into His Word.
