Today I would like to share some powerful prayers for labor and delivery. God has designed our bodies in incredible ways. Part of the way He designed women was for how they grow a child and deliver them.
Labor and delivery can be a very intimidating thought for expectant mothers.
Pregnant women can do a lot to prepare their hearts and minds before they labor to birth their child. One big way is to pray over their pregnancy, labor, delivery, and even their fourth trimester.
I hope that these pregnancy prayers offer some peace of mind and inspire your own prayers as you prepare for your little baby.

I will not fear. Prepare my heart and mind for the day of delivery. Give me Peace of mind as I put my trust in You. Help me seek You and Your kingdom first in everything.

By prayer and petition I make my request known to you. The unknown, and even the uncomfortable known can cause anxiety in me. I pray that you would help me leave it here at your feet, taking in its place your peace which surpasses all understanding.
Help me train my mind on what I know, on your promises from your word and all that is good and pure. Sustain me, O Lord and do not let me be shaken.
In the Holy Name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.”
Prayer for Trust in God’s Design for Birth
“Dear God, I pray that You would help me trust the body that You have fearfully and wonderfully made to birth children.
I know that we live in a fallen world, and things do not always go according to plan, but help me trust and listen to my body as much as possible as I bring forth this little life with Your help.
You designed me for this time beforehand, help me walk well in it.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ’s precious name. Amen.”

Help me endure, o Lord. In my weakness, make me strong. Help me rest in you as I labor.
In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
Prayer for When Birth Does Not Go As Planned or A Traumatic Birth
“O God of All Comfort, I am grieving the birth that I had planned. Help me process my grief and emotions in a healthy way so that I can enjoy our new little one.
Prince of Peace, be with my heart in this difficult time. I know people mean well when they say at least mom and baby are healthy, but it still hurts.
Help others understand as well how hard this is. I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety.
I know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we have direct access to the Father, creator and sustainer of the universe. What a privilege it is to be able to come boldly before His throne with our requests. Let us not neglect it or write it off as something that doesn’t make a difference.
May the Lord bless and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He turn His face toward you and give you peace.
